A Chartered Accountant by profession, Andile’s been an investment banker with Investec Corporate Finance, a member of the Takeover Regulations Panel and is a member of the FSB’s Directorate of Market Abuse. Justin Cohen is the author of 4 books and 8 audiobooks. He hosts a CNBC Africa TV show in which he interviews some of the world’s top experts on success. As a leading authority on human potential, with a postgraduate degree in psychology. Justin Cohen speaks and trains in the fields of motivation, sales, customer service and leadership.
Over the past 17 years he has presented in 20 countries, and in virtually every industry, to an average of 8000 people annually. Justin is a certified speaker professional and a Southern African Speaker Hall of Fame inductee.
Mzamo is a seasoned executive and currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Google Africa. Prior to joining Google, he was the Managing Executive at Vodacom Africa Group. Mzamo took up this position after his role as Global Head of Brand Engagement at Vodafone London. He earned his MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business in 2006 and he also serves on the GIBS Advisory Board.
Mzamo founded the People’s Insights Consultancy in 2006 and co-founded African Men Care (AMC) NPO. The Consultancy advises South African and global corporations on world class consumer behavior and brand growth. The NPO focusses on navigating the black youth through the township and rural maze and removing stumbling blocks to provide them with opportunities to flourish in South Africa.
Nivani is the Head of SMB Marketing at Google Africa and is focused on helping enterprises grow their businesses through digital technology. Her previous work experience includes management consulting at Bain & Company and investment banking at Standard Bank and Merrill Lynch. Her background ranges from mergers and acquisitions, strategy, marketing, turnaround and operational improvement projects for large African companies and tech start-ups in Silicon Valley and Europe.
Nivani has an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley (including the International Exchange Programme at London Business School), is a CFA charterholder and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours in Actuarial Science) degree from the University of Cape Town.
Zama is a qualified Chartered Accountant with an Honours degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University). She has an uncanny affinity for figures and is well-versed in all financial matters. Although her career began as an article clerk and subsequently an Audit Manager, her work experience has been mainly in development finance with notable skill in analysis, risk identification and risk mitigation.
She is a Fund Manager at the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) where she leads a team of 15 investment professionals in carrying out the mandate of improving access to capital by availing finance to black-owned entities. She also oversees the NEF’s Women Empowerment Fund which finances businesses that are majority-owned and managed by black females. Zama is the currently the President of The African Women Chartered Accountants Association. She is also founding member and project manager of “Uplift as We Climb”, an annual Diepsloot charity drive project.
Mandisa Ndlovu is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is currently the Segment Head of Business Banking at FNB for the KZN Coastal Region. She has 10 years working experience in the investment and business banking industries and has been fortunate to work in the banking sectors both nationally and internationally. Her passion is assisting entrepreneurs grow their businesses (particularly women) and drives this by championing the Women in Business focus at FNB in KZN as well as being a mentor for the BWA Entrepreneurship program.
Gcina is the founding Chief Executive and shareholder of Imbewu Capital Partners. He has the overall responsibility for the operational, strategic and investment activities of the company. He has more than seventeen years’ experience in the private equity industry, of which six years were spent with Nedbank Capital Private Equity, as a Private Equity Specialist.
Gcina is a qualified General Accountant and is an associate of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is currently a director at Isegen South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Container Conversions (Pty) Ltd, Icon Construction (Pty) Ltd, RCL Foods Limited, Hulamin Limited and International Facilities Services (Pty) Ltd. Gcina is also a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IODSA), the Investment Analyst Society (IAS), and the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP).
Thebe Ikalafeng is arguably the foremost global African brand and reputation architect, advisor and author. In a distinguished corporate career which started at Colgate Palmolive in New York and concluded as chief marketing officer for NIKE Africa, he won over 75 awards in branding, marketing and communication globally. He’s the founder of the award-winning Brand Leadership Group and has worked on over 100 brands in public and private sector branding, political and destination branding and reputation management across Africa.
He is deputy chairman of South African Tourism and a non-executive director of Mercantile Bank, Cartrack Holdings and WWF South Africa. Thebe has been named one of the 100 Most Influential Africans by New African Magazine. He consults globally as the pre-eminent authority on branding in Africa. He’s judged awards on design and creativity, marketing, branding and leadership across the world, including the Red Dot Design awards in Germany and St. Gallen Symposium ‘Wings of Excellence’ in Switzerland and served as vice-chairman of the Brand Council of Southern Africa and the chairman of Loeries.
