Andile Khumalo

A seasoned entrepreneur, Chartered Accountant, and operator of growth businesses, Andile Khumalo is the CEO of The Brodkast Group, an investor in the Technology, Media and Telecommunication sectors. Khumalo is the former Managing Director of POWER 98.7 and former COO of MSG Afrika, whose subsidiaries include radio stations POWER 98.7, Capricorn FM, The Communications Firm, a PR & events agency, and television production firm, Quizzical Pictures.

A former investment banker with Investec Corporate Finance, Andile is a former member of the Takeover Regulations Panel, a previous director of South African Airways, the former President of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa (ABASA), and a former member of the FSB’s Directorate of Market Abuse.

Khumalo is also the founder of I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR, a national Summit designed to help entrepreneurs become better leaders of their businesses by imparting the skills they need to thrive. Through his family office, Khumalo is also invested in and serves as Chairman of The House of Brave, a full-service marketing agency based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Khumalo regularly writes for The Business Times, Sunday Times and often speaks in public on doing business in South Africa & the rest of Africa, Transformation and Innovation.

Nozipho Mbanjwa

Nozipho is the CEO of The Talent Firm – a specialized talent management firm advising on millennial talent in South Africa. Nozipho is also the founder and the lead moderator at Akwande Communications. She facilitates global conversations that are designed to have measurable outcomes. Nozipho has successfully moderated conversations for global and African institutions including, leading listed and unlisted multinational corporations, business schools, and civil society organisations that seek to leverage conversations for change. Akwande also builds bespoke communication strategies for multinational corporations entering into the African market.

As an internationally acclaimed conference moderator, Nozipho is in high demand for her  unique and insightful ability to facilitate intelligent conversations with depth and breadth. She has moderated conversations for the World Economic Forum, United Nations agencies such as UN Women, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund amongst other global corporations.

Nozipho is also an award-winning journalist, broadcasting financial markets shows into to 48 African countries and reaching millions of Africans daily. Her broadcast niche lies in the politic al economy, development finance, gender mainstreaming, and youth development and has hosted a number of shows in these areas.

She has worked in The Presidency in South Africa, the Mayor’s Office in Washington DC, Umlambo Foundation, as well as Tata Africa in Johannesburg . Nozipho is a faculty member for Duke CE in Africa specializing in leadership programs and is a fellow of the Gordon Institute for Business Science’s Centre for African Management and Markets.

Experts

Mark Keating

An experienced sales expert and CEO of SalesGuru, Mark’s passion is professionalising sales in South Africa. With over 22 years sales experience, as an industry top sales producer and various sales management /and leadership roles, he has developed his own blueprint for successful selling. It is his real world experience and approach to content development and delivery that makes him a leader in his field.

Although his style is engaging and humorous, he takes very seriously his role of continually raising sales to the level of a professional career. Mark has spoken for many of South Africa’s leading businesses across a broad range of sales topics.

Toure Owen

Toure Owen is the Product Marketing Manager at Google Africa and supports Ads Marketing across Sub-Saharan Africa. Before relocating to South Africa, Toure worked on Small and Medium Sized Business development across the Americas, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. He lead marketing campaigns to engage, inspire, and acquire the highest value brands advertising with Google.

Toure is passionate about the impact local businesses have on their community and wants to make sure that small business owners have to the insights, tools, and resources they need to succeed in the new digital world.

Valentine Jingura

Zimbabwean-born Valentine started his career as an Actuarial Analyst at Clientele Life. Valentine then joined the FNB Personal Loans team as a Quantitative Analyst – learning the basics of Credit Risk Management. He took over the FNB Loans campaign programme and later joined the FNB Business Banking team, where he now drives the pricing for Core Lending Products, Policies and Risk Appetite.

Desmond Mabuza

Born and raised in Soweto, a large Black township near Johannesburg, Desmond is a Black South African who owns and successfully & consistently operate fine dining restaurants that cater for the discerning culinary community who come out to connect and celebrate life through food in a comfortable upmarket setting.

Originally  trained as a Civil Engineer in the United States of America, Desmond returned to South Africa to pursue his engineering career that culminated in him starting a Civil Engineering and Project Management practise.

His transition to the culinary world started as an investor in a fine dining restaurant, Back o’ the Moon in Gold Reef Casino where he was part of a 4 investor-owner team. He was hooked and in time wrapped up the engineering practice to focus his project management capabilities on operating and perfecting the fine dining restaurant model.

In June 2009, the Signature Restaurant brand was born, with Morningside Shopping Centre in Sandton, housing the first flagship Signature Fine Dining Restaurant where food, excellent service, music and design live in harmony to create the perfect offering for the patrons who keep coming back to this day. The phenomenal success and growth of Signature Restaurant has earned Desmond his place in both the South African culinary and business community. The restaurants employ more than 100 staff members; with Chefs, Sommeliers, Waiters and Kitchen support teams all playing a key role in the success of the Signature brand.
